It's All About The Animals!
 

 We are a 100% donation supported Nonprofit Charity(certification HERE). Dedicated solely to the rescue, rehabilitation, and sanctuary of equine, canine and small exotic birds who have been abused, neglected or simply just unwanted. Placement in loving forever homes is available to qualifying homes and animals.

 

We also work alongside local authorities to help educate horse and dog owners and the community in the safety and welfare of animals. The goal of any community organization should be to educate animal owners in the proper care and treatment of their animals and not to sieze them and adopt them out.                                                                                               

 

Taking an animal from an owner, is and should always be a last resort.


How it all started
Golden "S" Rescue, Inc. was founded as a non-profit animal rescue and sanctuary by Debra Sheridan and Rodney Chatman in February 2008. Smokey (pictured above) was the inspiration for alot of what has grown into being a full time labor of love. 
How we have grown!
We started out with one horse and two dogs and have grown into a very large rescue with six horses and more than 150 dogs with our own on-site infirmary, puppy room and 12 permanent kennels for our temperary and permanant residents. We are strictly a no-kill rescue!
